During the deployment, HMAS Tobruk is scheduled to participate in amphibious exercises Sea Lion, Croix du Sud off New Caledonia and Pae Tata off New Zealand.  NUSQN 808 also embarked HMAS Tobruk for the deployment to carry out individual and collective training leading to Navy Operational Test and Evaluation (NOTE) on the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) new multi-role MRH-90 helicopter.   HMAS Tobruk provides the ADF with amphibious heavy lift capability. The ship has recently undergone maintenance which will allow her to operate until her planned withdrawal from service at the end of 2014.
