Australian Army officer Major General Adam Findlay, AM, Special Operations Commander for Australia, visited Special Operations Training and Education Centre (SOTEC) instructors and students at Holsworthy Barracks, Sydney, on Wednesday, 28 August 2019.

Major General Findlay also hosted several Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) personnel during the visit. AGSM is part of the University of New South Wales Business School in Sydney and is working with SOTEC to formally recognise its professional military training with civilian qualifications.

Major General Findlay and the AGSM personnel presented several SOTEC instructors and trainees with Certificates in Executive Management and Development from AGSM, which is two credits towards a masters degree.

The SOTEC trainees are currently undergoing a specialised shooting course at Holsworthy Barracks as part of the commando reinforcement training cycle and are due to be awarded their Sherwood-green berets as commandos in mid-November.

SOTEC is the Australian Army's special operations 'schoolhouse', responsible for Special Operations Command's recruitment, selection, training, education and trade management.
